Walker, Ronald Trevor MD

After struggling with ALS, Ron passed away at 11:30 P.M. - one month after celebrating his 80th birthday with a huge party.
Ron attended UBC Medical School as a single parent of two young children, Stephen and Debrah. Ron was quite a genius fellow with a quick wit.
Ron and two other Navy doctors started the first walk-in clinic in Canada. He was then transferred to Chilliwack where he ran the base hospital until he resigned from the Navy to go into practice in North Vancouver. After twenty-two years as a sole practitioner he joined the Caledonia Medical Clinic in Nanaimo and stayed there for three years before retiring.
Ron is predeceased by his parents; sister Joy; and daughter Debrah. Survived by his loving wife Carol (Stewart); son Stephen (Frances) of Australia; son-in-law Don Osborn of Nebraska. Adopted family, Heather King. Ron leaves to grieve his six grandchildren, Sasha, Talia, Ava, Marlowe, Charolette, and Hollister.
A service will be held on Wednesday, August 2 at 11 A.M., at the Royal Canadian Legion #257, 7227 Lantzville Road, Lantzville, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ron's memory to the ALS Society of BC, 1233-13351 Commerce Parkway, Richmond, BC V9V 2X7.
