Edward (Bud) Abbott

With great sadness, this is to inform you all of the passing of our Venture classmate Ed(Bud) Abbott on Thursday 11 July. Ed was stricken suddenly in May with an extremely aggressive and rare cancer. Although ultimately resigned to accept that the disease would quickly take him, he maintained his spirit and grateful acceptance of all farewell messages.
I’m sure we all have good memories of Ed as a fellow venture classmate, and later in pilot training, and by those who flew with him. Following his naval air career, Ed led a very successful and happy life in medicine shared with his wife Melanie and son and grandchildren.
The family were dual Can/US citizens and lived and Worked for the most part in the US. They also have a home here in BC where they spent most summers.
