Remembrance at HMCS Venture

Cdr Darren Slee, CO Venture, is inaugurating a ceremony on Remembrance Day to honour our 13 Ventures that died in the line of duty.

The ceremony will be centered on the Venture Cadet Statue that has become a memorial by virtue of the addition of the "In Remembrance" plaque.

Venture has a standing commitment at 11:00 at the Ross Bay Cemetery; therefore, the ceremony with be at 0900. There will be a wreath laying and traditional words, a bugler and vocalist to lead the singing of O Canada.

Covered seating will be available for Venture Association attendees and family. We should be in our places by 0845. I will confirm parking which will be close to the statue, possibly the parade square opposite.

The new Venture is establishing this ceremony to connect with the foundation our plan provided. This will be an annual event perpetuating the memory of our fallen and, by extension , all of we original Ventures.

Please advise Wilf Lund '61 if you will attend. Remember spouses and family are welcome. If numbers warrant we might be able to arrange coffee after in the Welland Room.
